Sakho out for 2 months.

That could account for poor form this season...same for Cresswell...

It's clear that Bilic sets up much differently than BFS defensively...

Good point DJH, our full backs are more exposed this season. On the other hand we play in a more assertive way compared to last year.

Re: West Ham v WBA - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
I was at Charlton on Saturday and speaking to someone who knows Chris Powell pretty well and we were discussing Jenkinson, he said that Powell felt when he trusted the teammate in front of him he was always a better fullback than when he didn't so the guy I was chatting to thought maybe under Allardyce Jenkinson was given more protection by the midfield when getting forward whereas under Billic he hasn't and has been left exposed shooting his confidence to bits.

I'd play Tomkins there at Old Trafford to be more solid and take Jenkinson out.

I don't know what's happened to Jenkinson. Just about all of us wanted him signed permanently in the cvlose season, based on how good he was last season.

Both him and Creswell started badly, maybe down to the new regime and new ways. Fair enough to some extent, but it seems Cresswell has adjusted, whereas Jenkinson is regressing.

I still think there is a decent full back there, but his confidence is shot. He needs to pull himself up or have his arse benched.

Re: West Ham v WBA - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
I'm not having jenkinson at all
I'd say he is the standout weak link in our team
The only saving grace is we didn't sign him permanently and I can't imagine bilic is happy with him but he doesn't exactly have much choice as we don't have another right back at all

He's been pony recently and there's no denying that, but I still like the kid. I think he offers us so much.

He simply has to cut out the errors though.

Re: West Ham v WBA - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
Weird how full backs have always had a way of 'hiding' and gettigng away with most shit. If Jenkinson was a centre back he would have been binned weeks back. Of course he will be starting again next week.

Re: West Ham v WBA - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
Jenkinson was shit all game. Looked like a rabbit in the headlights faced with taking players on. Constant backwards passing, no attacking support whatsoever. Defensively we were all over the place for most of the game as we have been for a few games. Doesn't seem to be a leader in there. Lucky Adrian was on good form or we would have lost.

Lets be honest.

Absolutely SHIT result and not good enough.

And anyone still claiming we are not constantly unlucky with injuries is a cunt.

Jenkinson was absolutely toilet. Confidence looks shot, he's fucking Luther.

Re: West Ham v WBA - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
2 points dropped

First half was impressive, Lanzini and Zarate were on fire, especially Lanzini who was in a class of his own creating chances and beating players at will.

Fantastic free kick for the goal and the only downside was not putting ourselves deservedly more ahead.

Second half we lost it in first 5 mins. Pulis put a rocket up them and they came out and responded with a early goal. Only grew in confidence after that and we didn't get to grips with two up top quick enough.

Positives for me were Ogbonna and Obiang coming in and impressing. Really tightened us up defensively and should start next week for me. Cresswell was better, and Sakho's hold up play was immense.

Negatives......Jenkinson looks like he doesnt trust himself to be effective going forward. So scared of doing the wrong thing he no longer does the right. Bilic also has to be mentioned, do not get changing the formation in the second half.....or putting Carroll on who was ineffective as usual. Leaving Antonio on the bench till so late on was again baffling as we was crying out for more width and someone to run at either full backs who were both centre backs doing a job there.

To be so dominant and impressive in the first half and not come away with 3 points is disappointing but we are still 7th. Improvement needed, and lets hope Sakho is not out for too long otherwise we will really struggle to score goals.

Re: West Ham v WBA - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT

Antonio had about two touches.
One led to a throw for us,
the other was an intricate pass that lead to Cresswell's free kick.

Those are the stats. He looked very good.

Davenport, whar are you talking about? He'd had hit it into the wall and given one of their defenders a slight bruise on their leg.

Why do you keep quoting what Chelsea fans say about John Terry?

Can't wait to get our Captain Leader Legend back in the side.

Imagine last season, he'd have taken that free kick yesterday and done FUCK ALL WITH IT.

Re: West Ham v WBA - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
9 games without a clean sheet now which is the worst in the premier, Bilic was a defender which makes you wonder if we should be doing better here.
